Professions by class

Two primary professions per character, plus Cooking, First Aid and Fishing which everyone can learn. The picks below are the Classic choices that still make sense in Forever; the skill routes are the standard 1–300 paths. Forever's item changes may touch a recipe or two; the news desk logs it.

Warrior

PairWhy
⭐ Mining + BlacksmithingThe classic tank and DPS pair: you make your own weapons and armor at the awkward levels and the Thorium gear at 60. Slow to level and costs gold until it pays off.
Mining + EngineeringGrenades, the goggles, and the gadgets every PvP warrior wants. Mining feeds both.
Skinning + MiningIf you want gold while leveling: sell everything, pick a crafting skill at 60.

Paladin

PairWhy
⭐ Mining + BlacksmithingPlate at 40, Lionheart Helm-tier crafts at 60, and your own weapons on the way.
Mining + EngineeringReflectors, grenades and the parachute cloak; the PvP pick.
Herbalism + AlchemyMana and healing potions for a class that lives on both.

Hunter

PairWhy
⭐ Skinning + LeatherworkingYou kill beasts all day anyway. Devilsaur set at 55+ is the best pre-raid DPS leather in the game.
Mining + EngineeringGuns, scopes and bullets are Engineering; ranged hunters never stop needing them.

Rogue

PairWhy
⭐ Skinning + LeatherworkingDevilsaur again, and the Hide of the Wild-tier crafts; also makes the poison-era gold you need.
Mining + EngineeringGrenades and the Goblin Sapper Charge are what win rogue PvP fights that go wrong.
Herbalism + AlchemyThistle Tea needs Swiftthistle; Alchemy makes the Elixir of the Mongoose you want for raids.

Priest

PairWhy
⭐ Tailoring + EnchantingTailoring makes every cloth upgrade to 60 and the Mooncloth and Robe of the Void; Enchanting disenchants your own crafts to level cheaply.
Herbalism + AlchemyMana potions and the Elixir of Greater Intellect pay for themselves in a healer's raid week.

Shaman

PairWhy
⭐ Skinning + LeatherworkingMail from Leatherworking at 40 and the elemental sets later; skinning funds it.
Herbalism + AlchemyPotions for a hybrid that uses both bars, and the Elixir of the Mongoose for Enhancement.
Mining + EngineeringFor PvP shamans: grenades and the reflector trinkets.

Mage

PairWhy
⭐ Tailoring + EnchantingThe caster standard. Tailoring is cloth armor through 60; Enchanting turns your old crafts into dust and shards.
Herbalism + AlchemyMana oils are Enchanting, but the potions, Elixir of Frost Power and Fire Power are Alchemy.

Warlock

PairWhy
⭐ Tailoring + EnchantingSame as the Mage: cloth all the way, Robe of the Void and the Felcloth sets at 60.
Herbalism + AlchemyShadow Power elixirs and the healing potions a Life Tap class burns through.

Druid

PairWhy
⭐ Herbalism + AlchemyYou can herb in Travel Form; Alchemy makes the potions a hybrid wants in every spec.
Skinning + LeatherworkingFeral druids want the leather sets; skinning in Cat Form is fast.
Enchanting + TailoringFor a Restoration druid who plans to raid in cloth pieces.
