Launch week checklist
Launch: November 4, 3 p.m. PST (11 p.m. UTC; midnight CET Nov 5). Name reservation closes Nov 3. Tick items as you go; the page remembers them.
Before Nov 3
- Reserve your name
Early Name Reservation runs Oct 27 to Nov 3 for pack buyers; one name per ruleset you plan to play. Names and rulesets. - Pick the ruleset
Normal, PvP, RP, or Hardcore later. PvP ruleset: always flagged in contested zones and one faction per account. Realm guide. - Plan professions
Two gathering professions pay for the first mount; pick the pair in the gold planner. - Install the client and preload
Battle.net preloads the client before launch; log in once to accept terms so queue time is not spent on that. - Add-ons
Questie, Leatrix Plus, Bagnon, Details or Recount, a threat meter: versions and links on the add-ons page; Forever uses the 1.60 API, so Classic Era add-ons mostly work. - Macros and keybinds
Set them on a level 1 before launch: macro library. - Voice
Make an Echo Lobby room for the group: no download.
Launch day, Nov 4
- Log in early
Queues form before 3 p.m. PST; log in 30 to 60 minutes ahead and stay logged in. Live queue reports on the live blog. - Create the character on the reserved name
Reservations expire if you do not create the character within the window Blizzard sets; do it first. - Grab the starter quests and go
Follow the leveling guide for your class; the first ten levels are the only crowded hour, so pick the less obvious starting zone if you can (Dwarf and Gnome share, Orc and Troll share). - Train skills at 4, 6, 8, 10
The spellbook by level lists what each class learns; do not skip rank 1 of your main attack. - Pick up gathering at 5
Mining and Herbalism nodes in starter zones pay for level 10 training and the first bags. - Bags
Linen Cloth from humanoids: a Tailor friend or the vendor 6-slot bags until you have four 10-slots.
First week
- Level 10: talents
One point per level from 10; the starter builds give the order. Respec cost is low early. - Dungeon one: Ragefire or Deadmines
Level 13 to 18: dungeon guide; bring the quests from the capital. - First weekly reset
Tuesday Nov 10, 8 a.m. PT (Americas) / Wednesday Nov 11, 4 a.m. UTC (Europe), if Forever keeps the Classic-era schedule: reset timer. Honor and raid lockouts reset then. - PvP cap week 1
Rank 3 is the ceiling in week one; the honor calculator plans the rest. - Reputations
Start the new factions early: reputations. - Save for the mount
Riding at 40 costs 80 gold plus the mount; the level planner dates it. - Watch for hotfixes
Launch-week hotfixes land daily; the news desk logs each one and the Classic vs Forever pages update.
