Profession planner
Pick a profession below and you get a tradeskill window like the one in the game: set your skill, watch recipes turn orange, yellow, green and grey, click any recipe for its reagents and where each one comes from, then press a goal (your first wand, a bag, a camp object) and the planner lays out the cheapest trainer recipes from where you are to where you want to be, with a shopping list. All 2228 recipes come from the Forever beta client, 937 of them new.
The easiest way to make a wand
- Learn Enchanting at any Enchanting trainer (level 5). Novice's Practice Wand is known from the start: 1 Simple Wood (any Trade or General Goods vendor, 38c) and 1 Mote of Magic (the Enchanting Supplies vendor standing next to the trainer). Craft it, equip it: a wand at level 1 for under 1 silver.
- Skill 10, Lesser Magic Wand: 1 Simple Wood and 1 Lesser Magic Essence. Disenchant any green weapon or ring from your starting zone, or buy the essence from the same vendor. Get the ten points with Enchant Bracer – Inferior Stamina (1 Mote of Magic each, or make Motes from Strange Dust with Dust to Motes).
- Skill 70, Greater Magic Wand: 1 Simple Wood and 2 Lesser Magic Essence, the level-13 wand that carries casters to the mid-20s.
- Later wands: Lesser Mystic (155) and Greater Mystic (175) need Star Wood (Enchanting Supplies vendors) plus Lesser Mystic Essence and Vision Dust from disenchanting level 30–45 greens; Forever adds Twisted Nether (185), Dreambough (215), Lesser Eternal (245), Greater Eternal (275), Torch of Light (300) and the Brilliant Wand (275, Large Brilliant Shards). Open the Enchanting planner, set your skill and press a wand goal for the full path and shopping list.
How to read the window
■ Orange: always a skill-up■ Yellow: usually■ Green: rarely■ Grey: never■ Locked: your skill is too low to learn it
Ranks: Apprentice 1–75, Journeyman 75–150 (train at 50), Expert 150–225 (train at 125), Artisan 225–300 (train at 200). Every crafting trade pays a Legacy Point the first time you hit 150, 225 and 300. Camp objects (Tier 1 at skill 20, Tier 2 at 140, Tier 3 at 300, and Cooking and First Aid have a Tier 4) are the new Forever system: three players each add one object to a Basic Campfire for an hour-long buff. Which two professions to take is on the professions by class page, and the gold per skill bracket on the gold planner.
Keep this page bookmarked: the planners are rebuilt from Wowhead Forever after every patch, so the counts above move when Blizzard retunes recipes. Last read: 2026-10-31.
